Description

As an ESG Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting our clients and internal team by analysing environmental, social and governance risks and opportunities across sectors. You will gather and interpret data, support the development of frameworks and reporting aligned with regulatory and industry standards, and assist with supplier and value chain risk management. You will collaborate across teams to strengthen our advisory capabilities and support our digital tool offering.

This position reports directly to our client, TDi Sustainability, based in the United Kingdom. You will work closely with the team in South Africa and receive direct operational instruction from the client.

Key Responsibilities 

• Collect, analyse and interpret ESG data and metrics for clients across sectors (e.g., mining, renewables, automotive). 
• Support the development and implementation of ESG related frameworks, policies, KPIs and management systems (including supply chain risk mapping, human rights due-diligence and regulation/standards mapping). 
• Assist in preparing ESG disclosure and reporting documents, aligned with recognised frameworks and regulatory regimes. 
• Conduct benchmarking and peer analysis of sector performance on ESG issues. 
• Monitor emerging ESG trends, legislation and standard setting relevant to metals, minerals and supply chains. 
• Support client engagements for supplier audits, risk mitigation, and capacity building/training. 
• Contribute to internal knowledge sharing, development of insights/reports and thought leadership materials. 

Your Profile 

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Economics, Finance, Human Rights, or a related discipline. 
• 2-4 years’ experience in ESG, sustainability, supply chain risk, auditing or consulting (particularly in mining, metals, or industrial supply chains) is preferred. 
• Strong analytical skills, comfortable working with data sets, reports and dashboards. 
• Familiarity with ESG/SS360 frameworks, human rights due diligence, supply chain risk mapping and relevant standards/regulations. 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills (you will liaise with clients and stakeholders globally). 
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, ability to work both independently and as part of a team. 
• Proactive, inquisitive mindset with genuine interest in sustainability, responsible sourcing and supply chain transparency.
