The science is clear - even if we do everything else right on reducing emissions, the world needs to remove 200 Gigatonnes of carbon from the atmosphere by the year 2050. There is no Net Zero without carbon removals.


At CUR8, we’re driven by making the worldwide market for Carbon Removals - on a mission to facilitate 1Bn tonnes of carbon removed in a single year. We combine financial and scientific expertise to build high-quality and diverse carbon removal portfolios that enable companies to invest in carbon impact with confidence and ultimately reach net zero. Offering products and services that will enable the Carbon Removals market to scale more quickly. Accelerating market development by unlocking financing for the most innovative carbon removal projects to scale.


We’re systemic thinkers. Together with our sister NGO, Rethinking Removals, we collaborate with the entire carbon removals ecosystem, across suppliers, buyers, policymakers, and narrative setters, together to develop and invest in future projects to make sure there are enough carbon removals in 1, 5, 10 and 25 years time.


About our team

We’re a small but mighty team; between us, we’ve built, scaled, and sold successful tech businesses, advised governments on net zero, shaped global narratives at Nature, New Scientist, and the BBC, led startup support and investments at Google, invested in and built carbon removal startups. Oh, and done the TED talk about carbon removal (haven’t you seen it yet?)


The role

Our current sales team of 3 works in an extremely collaborative way with our founders and colleagues across science, product, marketing and carbon operations to deliver high-impact carbon removal portfolios and carbon management solutions (software). We’re looking for an entrepreneurial new colleague to help us win and expand new accounts alongside contributing meaningfully to building the processes and culture to drive our growth.


You will:

  • You will identify potential buyers of carbon removals and develop innovative ways of winning these accounts.
  • You will lead the development, negotiation, and contracting of deals that enable companies to implement their net zero strategies using carbon removals.
  • You will facilitate deep discovery with prospects to uncover needs, possibilities, pain points and use these insights to inform CUR8’s product strategy.
  • You will play a meaningful role in supporting and shaping CUR8’s GTM and sales processes, including sales playbooks, hubspot management and collaboration with marketing.
  • You will support the sales team to nurture and expand current accounts.
  • You will stay up to date with the latest news about carbon removals enabling you to build lasting relationships with key stakeholders as a trusted advisor with climate knowledge.
  • You will help inform our company strategy to achieve maximum commercial and climate outcomes, always balancing what’s good for the company, the ecosystem, and the planet.
  • You will contribute to an effective, fun, impact-driven culture, where everyone has an opportunity to lead.


To be successful in this role:

  • You will be passionate about impact, startups, and climate change - experience working in an earlier-stage B2B startup would be helpful, but not essential.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience of which at least 3+ years in B2B enterprise sales.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive pipeline growth and achieve sales targets.
  • Love going deep on new domains. You’ve sold products in complex or technical fields, and relish becoming an expert on your subject matter.
  • You have an understanding of key climate change/sustainability frameworks; experience in carbon markets is valuable, but not essential.
  • You have exceptional oral and written communication skills with the ability to simplify complex or technical content in a concise and accessible way.
  • You have a professional and influential presence with decision-makers and can effectively collaborate with all personas in the decision-making process.
  • You’re happy to lead and take initiative in an ambitious, fast-paced, and ambiguous environment.
