You will ensure that the café/coffee station runs smoothly, remains well-stocked, and maintains the highest standards of cleanliness and efficiency. More importantly, you will be the face of Workshop17, welcoming every member and guest with warmth, friendliness, and exceptional service, because we know that a great coffee and a genuine smile can turn any day around.

General scope of work

Barista Tasks

• Prepare and serve coffee and tea drinks that meet quality standards.
• Properly handle and maintain all equipment.
• Respond to orders, concerns and complaints politely and efficiently.
• Serve customers quickly and efficiently.
• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of all the menu offerings.
• Observe relevant health and safety standards.
• Observe cafe trends and explore weekly specials.
• Cleanliness of the cafe and coffee station.
• Daily cash-up and management of the POS.

Eventing & Community Assistance

• Assist with taking orders and delivery of goods to meeting room clients.
• Assist with escalating member and client requests to the relevant team members.
• Assist with furniture moves and office setups around the location when needed.
• Work collaboratively with the team to manage last-minute adjustments and client requests.

Stock control

• Maintaining cafe stock.
• Assisting with weekly location stock counts.

Client interaction

• Polite, helpful and friendly.
• Always be available for the client.
• Communication throughout the day with the client & team for any changes.

Team player/support

Provide general support to the location team and assist all departments when necessary.

Experience & Qualifications:

• Excellent communication skills - verbal and written.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a barista and managing POS system.
• Experience managing stock.
• Basic computer literacy.
• A great team player. 
• Well presented and passionate.
• Dedicated, reliable and service-driven.
• Ability to engage with customers and build relationships.
• Hands-on and always willing to assist.
• Enthusiastic about serving others.

Recruitment Process

• Suitable candidates will be invited for a first interview, then a trial day.
• Shortlisted candidates will have a final interview with the HR Manager and Operations Manager.
