Job brief

The Logistics and Café Assistant is a proactive and service-driven support for the daily operations of our café and workspace. This role plays a key part in delivering an exceptional experience to our members and guests by ensuring the café, meeting spaces, and facilities are always well-maintained and efficiently run.

The ability to communicate clearly with customers and the location team is an important part of the role. 

Our creative workspace requires our team to be innovative, and the Logistics & Cafe Assistant should, therefore, be able to work well in a team, take direction, and be of general assistance throughout the location.

General scope of work 

Cafe Operations

• Support the Barista in daily café operations.
• Manage the café during Barista breaks or absence.
• Serve customers efficiently and professionally.
• Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the café and front-of-house.
• Assist with orders, deliveries, and additional café offerings.
• Monitor and minimise wastage.

Community, Meeting & Event Support

• Set up and reset meeting rooms to the required standards.
• Ensure spaces are clean, organised, and fully equipped.
• Assist with catering and beverage service for meetings.
• Provide support during events and bookings.
• Assist with reception duties such as parking, deliveries, etc.

Stock & Facilities

• Assist with stock control and stocktaking.
• Ensure proper storage and labelling of items.
• Report maintenance issues, damages, or breakages.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the café, kitchen, and shared spaces, including the terrace.

Customer Service

• Deliver friendly, professional, and efficient service.
• Respond promptly to member requests.
• Proactively assist members, guests, and team members.

Team Support

• Provide general support across the location.
• Assist with both scheduled and ad hoc operational tasks, including assisting during staff shortages.

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a café, restaurant, or hospitality environment.
• Previous Barista experience is advantageous.
• Experience in customer-facing roles with a strong service focus.
• Exposure to event support, meeting room setup, or office operations is beneficial.
• Basic experience with stock control and handling deliveries.
